As a student-athlete, you’re BUSY with school, sports and a social life. How are you supposed to manage it all?

I’ve been in your shoes. And I can help!

You know you need to learn how to become a better leader but HOW and with what time?!  That’s where I come in!

I’m Emily and I work with student-athletes, coaches and teams to help them learn more about themselves, grow and lead with intention.

SOME FUN FACTS ABOUT ME

I’ve been to 40 countries (I made it a goal to visit 40 countries before I turned 30, and I did it with one month to spare!)

I worked in Investment Banking right after college - 80-100 hours a week in an office on Madison Square Park

I have 3 dogs and 3 cats

I am a City Councilwoman!

Long story short…

I moved to Cody, Wyoming in 2017 after working in NYC for 3 years after college to work at the dude ranch I grew up visiting as a kid. In a roundabout way, I was asked if I would be willing to coach our local swim team and since I needed the money, I said sure why not.

It didn’t take me long to fall in love with coaching and to realize that I needed to do more to become the best coach I could. I sought out ways to further my education and pursued my Masters degree at Clemson University focusing in Youth Development Leadership.

MY STORY

MY STORY

I started swimming at the young age of 6 in Rochester, New York and kept swimming competitively for the next 16 years! In high school, I was a bit of a leadership nerd - I was president of my student body, president of a high school political club, swim team captain and MVP -- I couldn’t get enough!

When I went to college, I realized that everyone there was just like me, and I really didn’t have many opportunities to lead. Even though I was swimming well, I struggled majorly with anxiety and depression and had a really hard time staying confident and happy.

After 3 years in banking on wall street, I moved to Wyoming where I fell into coaching the local swim team. I gravitated towards working with high schoolers and saw so many of the same challenges I faced in them.

Instead of just showing up to coach, I wanted to learn how to be the best possible coach I could be and began my MS in Youth Development Leadership at Clemson University (online) in 2019. After graduating in 2021, I still felt like I had more to learn and so I started my PhD just weeks later.

One of the biggest things i have learned in my studies is to be the coach I needed when I was younger. Who was that? Someone that was compassionate yet firm, approachable yet still held me accountable. Someone that helped me learn about how to truly BE a leader rather than just take on the leadership role in name.

That’s how I can help you.
